The Soulful & Funky Show is a long-form, open-format DJ experience hosted by DJ BobStar. Streaming on Twitch from Northern California, this show is an outlet of a lifelong passion for soulful music, funky beats and nasty basslines.
BobStar Productions was founded in 1981 when Bobby Gerould began making mix-tapes in junior high. "BobStar tapes" led to DJing local house parties and high school dances. What started as a passion for soul music quickly evolved into a refined craft, shaped by decades of digging, listening, and understanding how music moves people.
Throughout the years, Bobby has worked DJ gigs in Sacramento-area nightclubs including The 2nd Level, Blue Cue, Club Can’t Tell, Harlow's, K-Bar, Las Brasas, Momo Lounge, Ortega's West, and Tower Club, gaining real-world experience across multiple rooms and diverse audiences.
Additionally, he spent five years as a board operator at ARCO Arena I & II, acquiring professional, behind-the-scenes experience in live sound.
Known for his soulful and funky mixes, thoughtful sequencing, and an ever-expanding music library, DJ BobStar infuses depth, intention, and musical storytelling into every set.
On The Soulful & Funky Show, listeners can expect to hear deep cuts and classics, along with special edits and remixes created by DJ BobStar specifically for the show.
